EIDA is an ANR PRC project (ANR-22-CE38-0014) that was awarded during the 2022 session. The project aims at developing a new critique of astronomical diagrams of the 8th-18th centuries found in Chinese, Sanskrit, Persian/Arabic, Greek, Hebrew and Latin sources. This new critique is framed in the context of the digital humanities and will include an information system allowing to construct natively digital critical editions of diagrams. It is an interdisciplinary project joining a team of historians of sciences with computer vision researchers who will develop specific algorithms for retrieval and analysis of the historical diagrams. The blog will be used as the main platform to communicate and disseminate the information concerning the life of the project (general presentation, team, conferences and workshops, announcement of results and publications). We are addressing the communities of historians of astronomy, of digital humanities, of computer vision.
